The New Jersey senators have placed a hold on the appointment of Robert Sturgell as FAA administrator. Sens. Robert Menendez and Frank Lautenberg have expressed exasperation with the FAA on a series of issues: an airspace redesign near NYC and Philadelphia, noise levels around Newark Liberty Airport, and a shortage of air traffic controllers.
